HEC announces a research program for the funding of faculties


Islamabad: The Higher Education Commission (HEC) has solicited research proposals from faculty members of Pakistani universities in the public and private sectors, in collaboration with French counterparts, for funding under the PakFrance research program PERIDOT.

According to official sources from the Research & Development division of HEC on Monday, PERIDOT is the Franco-Pakistani Hubert Curien (PHC) partnership program providing opportunities for Pakistani and French researchers to interact for joint research activities.

The program is implemented in Pakistan by HEC and in France jointly by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Development (MAEDI) and the Ministry of Higher Education and Research (MESR), the sources told APP. . The objective of this program is to develop new scientific and technological cooperation between French and Pakistani higher education institutions / research laboratories by supporting the mobility of researchers on both sides, they added.

Sharing details of the main features of the project, the sources said the expected number of grants can be up to 5 per year, while the maximum duration of the project is three years. The Pakistani faculty member must submit the joint proposal through the HEC online portal: eportal.hec.gov.pk which must be approved by the head of ORIC / Directorate of Research.
