Dyna-Mac Collaborates with National University of Singapore (NUS) to Secure Low Carbon Energy Research Funding Initiative (LCER FI) Grant

The board of directors of Dyna-Mac Holdings Ltd. (“Dyna-Mac“and with its subsidiaries, the”Group“) wishes to announce that the Group has collaborated with NUS to obtain a grant under the Low-Carbon Energy Research Funding Initiative (LCER FI). [Source: 12 Projects Awarded $55 Million to Accelerate Decarbonisation in Singapore (]

This grant is awarded to support the development and demonstration of projects on low carbon energy technology solutions. The group will work closely with NUS as an industrial collaborator.

The project aims to achieve an improved process for the pyrolysis of methane, i.e. catalytic cracking and the separation of natural gas / methane into H2 gas and solid carbon. It examines the development of a new bifunctional membrane catalytic reactor (CMR) process, in which H2 and highly ordered carbon nanotubes (CNTs) are co-produced via a process of pyrolysis of methane (natural gas) with zero carbon dioxide (CO2) emission.

The potential advantage is that the pyrolysis of methane is a potential route to the production of low carbon emissions.H2 in Singapore. The process is currently expensive and energy intensive. If successful, it can reduce the cost of H2 production in Singapore while producing valuable carbon products.

The Group is currently seeking opportunities in the global hydrogen and ammonia market, which is adjacent to its core capabilities. In the context of the above, the Group seeks to exploit its modular construction capacities for the manufacture of hydrogen modules.

The above grant is not expected to have a significant impact on the Group’s earnings per share and net property, plant and equipment for the current year ended December 31, 2021.
