Activities to promote Qatari identity and heritage in planned pvt schools

The Private Education Affairs Sector of the Ministry of Education and Higher Education, represented by the Private Schools Affairs Directorate, and the Heritage and Identity Directorate of the Ministry of Culture, held several meetings to discuss cooperation in the implementation of activities and programs. on Qatari heritage and identity in private schools and kindergartens during the 2022/2023 school year.

The meetings discussed a proposed plan that includes several activities and programs in the field of identity and heritage, and mechanisms to implement them in private schools and kindergartens, to a detailed study of the proposal, while continuing follow-up efforts to develop a comprehensive plan for its implementation over the next academic year.
These joint meetings between officials of the two parties activate a previous meeting chaired by Director of the Department of Heritage and Identity Sheikha Najla bint Faisal al-Thani and Director of the Department of Private Schools Affairs Rashid Ahmed al-Ameri, where an employee from each side was assigned to coordinate and monitor the cooperation process in service of the common goals of both parties.
In 2021, the private education business sector of the Ministry of Education and Higher Education issued the general framework for school activities and trips to private schools and kindergartens, in order to improve curricular and extracurricular activities in various educational and developmental areas, and to enrich students’ leisure time in a productive and meaningful way, focusing on activities that care about identity and heritage, and that private schools and kindergartens allocate 20% to programs that promote national identity and Qatari heritage.
The number of private schools and kindergartens in Qatar is 334 with 215,000 students studying at different levels. The Ministry of Education and Higher Education is committed to its strategy to ensure the consolidation of Qatari values ​​and culture with understanding of other cultures among all students, whether in public or private schools, to different school levels.
